Campaign Story
St Joseph’s House for boys was formed after a resolution of the synod of the Anglican Church in 1936 as a non-denominational place of safety for boys who are orphaned, destitute, abandoned, abused exposed to domestic violence and desperately in need of shelter, food and education. St, Joseph’s aims at providing a promising future to the less fortunate boys. From its humble beginnings in the then Salisbury, the House moved twice to larger quarters before permanently establishing at its present location at 31 Denbigh Avenue, Belvedere, Harare in April 1953. Over the years the number of boys accommodated by this institution has increased and currently St Joseph’s House for Boys has 55 boys of different ages.
